The problem with being an artist:
You don’t know as much as an academic does.
The problem with being an academic:
You can’t touch lives like an artist can.
This calls for marriage!

The difference bewteen the two of us
My dear heart
~ as they would say in one of those chauvinistic romances from two centuries ago ~
My dear heart, I miss you just a little bit today.
So I thought I'd write you a letter with all my questions. I am also writing in my defense.
Why did you have to go away?
Why do you act as though it was me who let you go?
Perhaps it was so, who knows...I can only see my side of the story.
From where I stood, I was waiting.
For you to call. When you never did, I called and we still had nothing to say.
For you to come around my place and take me to a cartoon film.
For you to come around town to where I was spending the evening and tell me something funny.
For you to just come around.

I think its possible to touch lives as an academic also. of course you and I are talking different genres altogether.

but of course you are talking about academia in the arts. in which case i guess you are right.
